In providing qualitative leadership at all levels of governance and administration in the state’s ministries, departments and agencies, the Lagos State government has approved the appointment of Abdul-Azeez Abioye Lawal as the ninth Rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu.
Mr Lawal, 50, who is the current director of the Institution’s School of Part Time Studies, holds a first class degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master of Science (Management) and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos.
Mr Abioye Lawal joined the Lagos State Polytechnic in 1985 as a lecturer in the Department of BusinessAdministration in 1985 and rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Lecturer in December 2007. He is a lawyer who was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2009, a member of the Academy of Management Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management, and has authored or co-authored books and papers in reputable professional journals.
Mr Abioye, whose appointment took effect on June 1, has won many awards and prizes.
He is married with children.
